Code 91-46 Incorrect Compressor Speed Reported Malfunction (27VPA9 Only)
The PCM communicates the requested compressor speed to the VFD, which in turn powers the compressor and monitors its actual RPM. If the requested compressor speed and the actual compressor speed are not in agreement, it indicates a possible problem with VFD drive, NOT the compressor. A code 91-06 will normally resolve itself by shutting down and restarting the compressor. If the code 91-06 occurs 4 times in one hour it will generate a code 91-46 and lockout for 1 hour. If this code persists the VFD needs replaced.
