HVAC Zoning Bypass Temperature Calculator – Actual

Operating Mode
Select the mode in which the measurements were taken.
Enter the total measured airflow through the equipment.
Measure the return air before it mixes with bypass air.
Measure downstream of the bypass connection after the air streams mix, but upstream of the equipment.
Measure upstream of the bypass takeoff and away from direct radiant or coil-surface influence.
For greater accuracy, measure the bypass air immediately before it enters the return. If blank, supply temperature is used.

Select a mode and enter the four required field measurements.

Important : Stabilize the system and take measurements at approximately the same time. Effective bypass is estimated from dry-bulb temperature mixing; direct airflow measurement is required when exact bypass airflow is needed. Optional wet-bulb measurements provide additional cooling-condition context but do not calculate latent capacity, moisture removal, evaporator saturation temperature, or total cooling capacity.

Results assume stable operation and complete air mixing.
