Program purpose
The program is intended to support qualifying compressor failures identified within 30 days of initial start-up or installation when the failure appears to be caused by a manufacturing defect.
Important eligibility notes
- The equipment must be Carrier/Bryant residential product.
- Residential equipment used in a commercial application does not qualify.
- The system must be properly sized and applied.
- Installation and start-up procedures must have been followed.
- Required accessories must be installed where applicable, such as crankcase heaters, hard start kits, wind baffles, head pressure controls, or liquid line solenoids when required by the application.
- The system must be an approved match where applicable.
- Wiring and electrical supply must be adequate.
- Service compressors are not eligible under this 30-Day DOA compressor program.
Before submitting
- Verify line voltage and control voltage.
- Inspect wiring, contactor, terminals, and harnesses.
- Record compressor electrical readings.
- Record compressor winding/resistance readings as requested.
- Confirm system application and required accessories.
- Collect required equipment photos and any requested videos.
Possible review outcomes
- Additional diagnostic information requested.
- Compressor replacement path reviewed.
- Like-model unit exchange path reviewed when program and authorization requirements are met.
- Corrective action recommended if the information indicates an installation, application, wiring, or system issue.
